Hello! My name is Andrea, and I have been a part of the Talent Acquisition team since 2022. I was born in Mexico and raised in Utah. Growing up here has provided me with many opportunities that I am incredibly grateful for, along with the chance to experience some of the most beautiful scenery in the country.

In 2026, I transitioned from Recruiter to Executive Recruiter . In this role, I partner with leaders across U of U Health to identify, attract, and hire exceptional leadership talent throughout the organization. I am passionate about building strong relationships with candidates and hiring leaders while helping shape teams that support our mission of delivering outstanding patient care, education, and research.

Becca

Hi, I'm Becca, the one with darker hair! I've been recruiting for a little over 20 years and have proudly been part of the University of Utah Health's Talent Acquisition team since the summer of 2018. Helping people land roles they're excited about and seeing the way those opportunities can change their lives for the better is what keeps me passionate about what I do. It also doesn't hurt that I get to work alongside a supportive, talented, and genuinely awesome team every day.

I recruit for Ancillary Nursing, which includes Perioperative, Huntsman Mental Health Institute, Craig H. Neilsen Rehabilitation Hospital, Orthopaedic Center, and Huntsman Cancer Hospital. These areas are full of incredible people and helping candidates find their perfect fit never gets old.

I was born and raised in Northern Utah and am a big sports fan. NFL season is basically a holiday in my house, and you can often find us tailgating at Utes games. Go Utes! When I'm not watching football, there's a good chance I'm on the golf course, as long as it's at least 55 degrees and sunny.

Outside of work, my son is my pride and joy. He is funny, witty, handsome, way too smart for his own good, and endlessly entertaining. My girlfriend and I are partners in every sense of the word, from weekend adventures to everyday chaos, we do it all together. And I wouldn't have it any other way.

Mabuhay! I'm Cece, a Recruiter supporting Huntsman Mental Health Institute. I'm passionate about connecting talented professionals with meaningful career opportunities that advance mental health care and make a lasting impact in our community. In my role, I partner with hiring leaders and candidates throughout the recruitment process, focusing on creating a positive, transparent, and engaging experience from the first conversation through onboarding.

Originally from the Philippines, I moved to Utah in 2016 and began my career in the hospitality industry before transitioning into healthcare. My experience has strengthened my belief that people are the foundation of every successful organization. I enjoy building relationships, understanding what motivates others, and helping individuals find roles where they can thrive both professionally and personally.

I have the privilege of recruiting for the Surgical Technicians, Sleep-Wake Center, Pulmonary/Respiratory care, Outreach team, and Rehabilitation. The reason I came to University of Utah Heath and what I love about being here is the same—the reputation for patient care. It is a passion and a continuous driving force. We are truly second to none. The teamwork mentality is phenomenal, and the work-life balance is a strong part of the culture here.

Hello, I'm Derrick. I am a Talent Acquisition Recruiter and have worked at University of Utah Health Hospitals and Clinics since August of 2021. Before this, I served six years in the Army National Guard and mostly worked in Social Services outside of that. This is where I realized I enjoy working with others and helping them advance in whatever they are trying to pursue. Working in HR and specifically, with the Talent Acquisition team has given me those opportunities to continue to serve others in a positive way. Outside of work I enjoy traveling, hiking, biking, and spending time with my family.

My name is Nikki and I am the recruiter for all Pharmacy positions within the organization. I’ve worked as a recruiter in different industries, including health care, for the past twelve years and it has been my passion. Working at University of Utah Health has been a very rewarding experience that brings great joy as I assist applicants, customers and even the patients through those I help departments source, screen and select for hire. I enjoy being part of the U of U Health for what it represents in the healthcare world and the community that I live and love.

I am originally from Guatemala City and grew up on the east coast. Utah is a very different environment and have fallen in love with the mountains and scenery. Utah is a great place to raise a family and take on new adventures and opportunities.

Hi, I'm Shannon! I joined the University of Utah Health in September 2025 as part of the Talent Acquisition team.

Before joining UUHC, I spent 10 years in hospitality management, where I gained a deep understanding of exceptional customer service and the impact of employee experience. I then transitioned into recruitment, spending three years with a startup company hiring talent from around the globe.

When I'm not supporting candidates and hiring teams, you'll usually find me chasing after my wonderfully wild toddler, enjoying live music, or reading a good book. I love the fall season, and I am a bit of a Halloween enthusiast.

Coming from a southern family, I have always had a love of cooking. Before I started with University of Utah Health, I have been running my own pie business for a little over two years called Pies the Limit. What started as a hobby became something I envisioned leaving my future children one day to help build their legacy. When I'm not working or baking, I enjoy hiking and fishing at my favorite watering hole, Strawberry Reservoir. I am also expecting the birth of my firstborn child here in April.

Hello, my name is Brianda De Leon (she/her/hers), and I am a first-generation college graduate and Workforce Development Counselor at University of Utah Health. I serve as a bridge between employees and recruitment, helping individuals align their career goals with opportunities across our health system through career coaching, resume reviews, interview preparation, and career assessments. As a bilingual professional who speaks both English and Spanish, I strive to make these resources accessible and welcoming to the diverse communities we serve.

Before joining U of U Health, I was a Doctoral Fellow at The University of Texas at San Antonio, where I conducted research focused on education and immigration policy in higher education. I later worked as a Graduate Career Coach and Communications Career Coach at the University of Utah Career Success and as a Career & Employer Navigator at Proxima Careers. Today, I partner with recruiters and hiring leaders, facilitate workshops, and help employees explore career and educational pathways.

Hello! I'm Jess, and I've been with the University of Utah for nearly six years, including the past four years with University of Utah Health. As a Talent Acquisition Sourcer, I get to combine my background in research, writing, marketing and communications, community organizing, and HR operations to connect talented individuals with meaningful career opportunities across our organization.

Although I grew up in Utah, I've enjoyed living in several places over the years, including Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; Boston, Massachusetts; and Freiburg, Germany. Outside of work, I love traveling, capturing funny moments with my kids and cats, spending time with family, and continually trying to improve my gardening skills. My calendar is often filled with camping trips, summer concerts, boating, hiking, skiing, birthday celebrations, and long-weekend adventures with friends.

Since joining U of U Health, I've served as a recruiter, Workforce Development Counselor, and now Manager of Workforce Development & Talent Pathways. One of the things I enjoy most about my work is collaborating with community partners and our internal teams to create opportunities that help students, job seekers, and employees learn, grow, and achieve their career goals.
