Hello! My name is Andrea I have been a part of the Talent Acquisition team since 2022! I was born in Mexico and raised in Utah. Growing up here has given me many opportunities that I am extremely grateful along with some of the most beautiful scenery. I am the recruiter responsible for a variety of positions including chaplains, clinic techs, Facilities Management, outreach, sterile processing, Case Management, and Health Plans/Utilization Review. U of U Health offers opportunities for growth and career-enhancing experiences for people of all backgrounds.

Anjelica

Hi! My name is Anjelica, but most people know me as Jelly. Originally from the coast of northern California, I love the ocean and will always look for a reason to take a vacation to a beach. However, I have found myself happily landlocked in the beautiful Uinta Mountains for the last 15 years. Autumn is my favorite season, not because of the pumpkin spice lattes, but because the hiking is magical when the trees start to turn vibrant shades of red and orange. My family and I are always up for an outdoor adventure.

I recently joined the team as a nursing recruiter for U of U Health's ICU and Acute Care Units. I love witnessing the impact that our employees have on patient care and the relationships built with each department.

The culture at U of U Health Hospitals and Clinics is unmatched and it makes for a uniquely wonderful environment to work in.

Becca

Hi, I’m Becca (the one with the dark hair)! I’ve been recruiting for a little over 20 years and have proudly been part of University of Utah Health’s Talent Acquisition team since 2018. Helping people land their dream jobs—and seeing how that changes their lives for the better—is what keeps me passionate about what I do. Plus, working alongside such a supportive (and genuinely awesome) team makes every day a good one.

I’m the recruiter for Ancillary Nursing, which includes Perioperative, Huntsman Mental Health Institute, Craig H. Neilsen Rehab, Ortho Center, and Huntsman Cancer Hospital. These departments are full of incredible people, and helping them find their perfect fit never gets old.

Born and raised in Northern Utah, I'm a big sports fan! NFL season is basically a holiday in my house, and you'll often find us tailgating at Utes games— Go Utes! When I'm not watching football, there's a good chance you'll find me on the golf course (as long as it's at least 55° and sunny!).

Outside of work, my son is my pride and joy—funny, witty, handsome, and endlessly entertaining. My girlfriend and I are partners in every sense of the word; from weekend adventures to everyday chaos, we do it all together.

Daniel

I have the privilege of recruiting for the Surgical Technicians, Sleep-Wake Center, Pulmonary/Respiratory care, Outreach team, and Rehabilitation. The reason I came to University of Utah Heath and what I love about being here is the same—the reputation for patient care. It is a passion and a continuous driving force. We are truly second to none. The teamwork mentality is phenomenal, and the work-life balance is a strong part of the culture here.

University of Utah Health Hospital and its location near the most amazing outdoor adventures is remarkable, whether it is skiing, hiking, fishing, golf, mountain biking, national parks (Google it), entertainment, the list goes on and on… oh, and no humidity.

Hello, I’m Derrick. I am a Talent Acquisitions Specialist and have worked at University of Utah Health Hospitals and Clinics for just over two years now. Before this, I served six years in the Army National Guard and mostly worked in Social Services outside of that. This is where I realized I enjoy working with others and helping them advance in whatever they are trying to pursue. Working in HR and specifically, with the Talent Acquisition team has given me those opportunities to continue to serve others in a positive way. Outside of work I enjoy traveling, hiking, biking, and just trying new things.

I support the areas of Administration, Revenue Cycle, Risk Management, Finance, IT, System Quality, Value Engineering, and Moran/Ophthalmology Techs. Hi! I'm Nicole, and I recruit for RNs within Inpatient Nursing units in our Huntsman Cancer Hospital, Women's and Children's and several other areas. I've spent most of my career in healthcare, starting as a CNA right out of high school and eventually becoming an assisted living administrator. Hello, I’m Dominique, one of the Talent Acquisition Specialists on the team. I assist the recruiters in screening potential new hires identified, passing them along throughout the hiring process, and initiating their onboarding before New Employee Orientation.

Coming from a southern family, I have always had a love of cooking. Before I started with University of Utah Health, I have been running my own pie business for a little over two years called Pies the Limit. What started as a hobby became something I envisioned leaving my future children one day to help build their legacy. When I'm not working or baking, I enjoy hiking and fishing at my favorite watering hole, Strawberry Reservoir. I am also expecting the birth of my firstborn child here in April.

Ahoy! I’m Heather, one of the Internal Transfer Specialists on our team. I was originally born in the Salt Lake Valley but I was raised in Montana. Utah has always been home to me—I love the growth opportunity and the perfect mix of city and nature. Shortly after moving to Utah, I bought a white Jeep Wrangler JK. I love her with all my heart. I have made so many fellow Jeep friends and love to go on trails. I have a couple of Badges of Honor from Jeep and frequently venture south to hit the rocks.

In addition to working for the University of Utah Health Hospitals and Clinics, I am also a real estate agent. I enjoy traveling, especially to Miami or Las Vegas. I manage my own foodie Instagram account and like to eat lots of good food (especially if it has ranch on it) and love to support local businesses. Both on a professional level and a personal level, I enjoy learning new things, making people laugh, and connecting with people.

I'm Shannon, the newest addition to our Transfer Specialist team within Talent Acquisition. I bring 10 years of hospitality management experience and 3 years in recruitment, with a focus on internal mobility. As an external hire, I'm thrilled to be part of the U family!

My role is to empower employees by providing the support and opportunities they need to thrive and grow in their careers.

Outside of work, I'm the proud mom of a wonderfully wild toddler. When I'm not chasing him around, I love attending live music events and listening to vinyl records. I'm also an avid reader and a Halloween enthusiast.

Hello! My name is Jess, and I’ve been with the University of Utah for about five years now, including three with Hospitals and Clinics. I’ve recently transitioned into a Talent Acquisition Sourcer role, and I’m excited to bring together my background in community organizing, marketing, and HR to help connect incredible talent with meaningful opportunities here at University of Utah Health.

I grew up in Utah but have also loved living in places like Myrtle Beach, S.C., Boston, Mass., and Freiburg, Germany. Hello! My name is Victoria and I am a Workforce Development Counselor in HR for University of Utah Health Hospitals and Clinics. I have worked as a recruiter in Talent Acquisition for U of U Health and I am excited to join our team in this new role! For more than 10 years, I have worked in HR, Talent Acquisition and Workforce Development. I started my early career in California where I worked as a professional and business consultant under the direction of several large regional workforce development boards. I have lived most of my life in California where I was born and raised and relocated to beautiful Salt Lake County in 2019. Outside of work, I most enjoy reading, spending time with my children and traveling. I love the outdoors and enjoy traveling and taking in the most scenic hiking trails. Some of my favorite hiking trails up to Donut Falls and Dog Lake.

Hello! I’m James, the Director of Talent Acquisition and Workforce Planning for University of Utah Health Hospitals and Clinics.

I’m a Utah native and have made the University of Utah my home for the past 21+ years. My passions outside of work include trail running and community service—I spend my free time in the Wasatch Mountains and volunteer with my local community council. I love experiencing the variety of outdoor and city activities Salt Lake offers throughout the seasons. It feels great to work for an organization that supports my local community, my passions, and the Utah culture I love!

Throughout my time in HR, I’ve had the privilege of serving and building relationships with teams and leaders across the University. I lead talent acquisition operations and strategies for University of Utah Health’s Hospitals and Clinics, develop sourcing strategies to attract top talent, and strengthen career pathways for growth and promotion for community members and employees.
