Job Summary

Provides secretarial and administrative office support for the Associate Director of Clinical Education of the University of Utah Physical Therapy Program expansion on the St. George, UT campus. Performs a variety of duties including assisting with student clinical placements and managing clinical site contracts. Follows written and verbal instructions to accomplish assignments, sometimes of a routine and repetitive nature.

1. Manages clinical training agreements in conjunction with the Department of PTAT , College of Health, The University of Utah, Office of Risk Management, HIPAA regulatory office and external institutions site coordinators of clinical education, risk management, and legal representatives.

2. Maintains the clinical education management system.

3. Facilitates active student Clinical Experiences and the clinical experience placement request process.

4. Track and manage student compliance for clinical experiences.

5. Communicates with students regarding compliance, clinical experience placement information, and DPT program requirements.

6. Assists Director(s) of Clinical Education with planning and orienting new incoming students to the PT program/provide with annual updates of the Clinical Education Handbook/Manual.

7. Plan and organize logistics for local, state, and regional clinical education consortia meetings, conferences, and other special events and workshops.

8. Communicates with faculty, College of Health, and the health sciences campus about department’s clinical education program as needed.

9. Orders and maintains supplies for department.

10. May distribute mail and other supplies for department.

The incumbent may be required to prioritize tasks received from multiple staff members and determine the order of importance. The incumbent may coordinate work processes with other departments, community, governmental or regulatory agencies and must understand the objectives and policies governing the activities of the department and be able to effectively communicate this information to interested parties.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalency required. Four years full time secretarial experience or equivalency, word processing and spreadsheet software skills and demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills also required.

Knowledge of business writing preferred.
