Job Summary

Are you an energetic Health Sciences student looking to gain experience with a unique patient population? Look no further, this Wellness Program Assistant position offered at the University of Utah Rehabilitation at Sugar House is for you. We are looking for an athletic individual with excellent social skills to assist with our neurological wellness program.

Responsibilities

1. Works with patients with disabilities

2. Helps to implement the health and wellness program

3. Assists skilled therapists (PT, OT, ST) with patient exercise set-up

4. Assists patients in tracking exercise and wellness data and progression

5. Motivates and encourages patients during wellness programs

6. Creates and maintains a monthly wellness calendar of events

7. Distributes and promotes the wellness calendar of events

Work Environment and Level of Frequency that may be required:

Often: Infectious disease, oils ( there is air or skin exposure to oils or other cutting fluids ), hazards ( includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, or exposure to chemicals ).

Physical Requirements and Level of Frequency that may be required

Nearly Continuously: Hearing, listening, talking, walking.

Often: Bending, reaching overhead, lifting – up to 50 pounds, sitting.

Minimum Qualifications

Current enrollment in a health related degree program or two years experience in a health care setting, a Basic Life Support health care provider card within one month of hire required. Demonstrated computer skills, human relations and effective communication skills are also required.

This position is patient-sensitive and must fulfill all associated requirements.
