Job Summary

We are launching a new online course for scientists looking to learn about cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM). This course, called Cryo-EM 101, will be made freely available online, and will consist of video, 3D animation and interactive simulations that will cover all aspects of visualizing biological structures using cryo-EM.

As our web interactive programmer, you will create interactive web-based modules for the Cryo-EM 101 website. One example of an interactive module will be a virtual scientific equipment interface, where users can change experimental parameters and observe a difference in output. We plan to launch the website in the summer of 2018, and continue adding interactive modules throughout the 2018/2019 school year.

Responsibilities

The Cryo-EM 101 Web Interactive Programmer will:

-Work together with a producer, 3D animator and web developer to design and create graphically rich web-based modules that respond to user input.

-Maintain interactive modules, including troubleshooting any errors.

-Neatly manage and organize digital files associated with the project

Ability to design, write and test code for 2D web interactives using JavaScript, HTML5 andCSS.

Preferences

An interest in the sciences, and particularly in biology, is a plus!
