Job Summary

The Website Content Specialist is a full-time position and is responsible for the web presence of the Utah System of Higher Education ( USHE ) and its assets, including its partner and brand websites. Under the general direction of the Director of Communications in the Office of the Commissioner of Higher Education ( OCHE ), the Website Content Specialist will be responsible for managing and maintaining System websites, creating new webpages as needed in WordPress and Elementor builder and static sites using HTML and CSS . The Website Content Specialist will ensure all domains stay current and up to date, complete website redirects, and more as assigned.

Responsibilities

Performs duties as specified below:

• Manages and updates of content on USHE .edu and other System websites utilizing WordPress and Elementor platforms.

• Manages and updates content on subsidiary USHE static websites utilizing HTML and CSS

• Maintains websites for accuracy and timely content.

• Conducts website content audits to eliminate redundant, duplicate and outdated information.

• Improves the user experience of websites regularly.

• Collaborates with staff and management to ensure websites align with System goals and strategy.

• Aligns the System’s websites with brand and style guide.

• Keeps the System’s web domains and hosting registration current.

• Communicates and manages web projects with outside vendors and partners.

• Manages contracts with vendors and suppliers.

• Publishes and edits web content as needed.

• Other duties as needed.

Skills and Knowledge:

• Must have strong WordPress experience; experience with Elementor a huge plus.

• Must have HTML and CSS experience

• Must have website management experience.

• Must have demonstrated experience in project management and knowledge of project management tools (such as Asana, Slack, Box, etc.)

• Must have strong communications skill (oral and written).

• Fantastic time management skills with the ability to multi-task.

• Ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

• Ability to adapt to new conditions, assignments, and deadlines.

• Must be proficient with technology and interested in identifying and adopting technological advances in the field.

• Must have excellent interpersonal, organizational, project management, and time management skills.

• Proficient in MS Office Suite.

• Strong organizational skills.

• Ability to adapt to new conditions, assignments, technologies, and deadlines.

• Knowledge of higher education systems is a plus.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree or above preferred, in lieu of a bachelors degree equivalent work experience in a related field will be considered (1 year of education = 2 years’ of experience)

Experience:

• 1-3 years of experience in a related field preferred

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalency; two years related experience; and demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills required.
