As an up-and-coming marketer, you understand the importance of brand identity and communicating and engaging with an audience through social media, newsletters, content, and in person. We are offering you the opportunity to further develop your talents with a paid work study position with the Manufacturing Extension Partnership Center at the University of Utah (mep.utah.edu). We are committed to strengthening Utah manufacturing through providing customized services to improve all aspects of manufacturing, from the shop floor to the front office. We seek to fill this position immediately.
Manage the center’s social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn). Plan and publish regular posts. Create graphics and take photos to use on social media.
Propose social media strategies and campaigns.
Manage center’s website (Wordpress); add blog posts, success stories, and events to website regularly.
Track website and social media analytics and create monthly reports.
Compile content for bi-monthly newsletters using Constant Contacts and send out.
Create email campaigns promoting services and events.
Work closely with marketing manager to develop marketing materials to promote our programs, events, and services.
Create short monthly YouTube videos highlighting service offerings.
Manage and track center events; coordinate with staff on event attendance.
Attend events—take photos and highlight event on social media.
Work with staff to create compelling client success stories which will be featured in newsletters, website, and submitted for quarterly reporting.
Current University of Utah student pursuing a degree in marketing, communications, or a related area.
Demonstrable skills and history with social media, particularly Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn
Effective organizational and communications skills
Outstanding people skills and experience collaborating and working with a team
Knowledge of computer software, including Microsoft Office; experience with Hootsuite a definite plus
Excellent attention to detail
