Job Summary
The Geology & Geophysics Department Office is looking for a student assistant to play a
crucial role in helping to create, distribute, and organize department-level information
and thus improve communication and efficiency. The ideal candidate is very detailoriented,
reliable, organized, proactive, has a positive attitude, has a good work ethic,
has an eye for layout and design, and looking to stay in the job for 1+ years.
Responsibilities
Job Duties:
· Oversee department website (training will be provided.)
· Manage department social media accounts (FB, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube)
· Assist with department lecture series (communicate with speakers, make and
distribute marketing flyers, etc.; does not need to attend the lectures if it does not
work with your work schedule).
· Assist with organizing department electronic and print files.
· Assist with other office/department duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Preferences
Priority will be given to current Geology and Geophysics students.
This position will report directly to Shanna Futral, Geology and Geophysics Department
Manager, and will work in-person in 383 FASB (hybrid or remote work is not an option).
