This position is for eligible University of Utah students with work-study funding. This is a temporary, hourly position.
We can be flexible with your work schedule to accommodate your class schedule each semester.
We are looking for a reliable student to provide general office support for our research center for 15-20 hours per week. Our needs are for someone to review and edit electronic documents, assist with event planning and related arrangements, enter data, assist with monthly account reconciliation, make copies, assist with appointment scheduling, organize electronic documents, office supplies, books, and journals, as well as various similar tasks.
Demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills also required. Working knowledge of Word, Excel, and Outlook required.
Establishes and maintains organization of office supplies, event supplies, books, journals, and online documents. Assists with tracking of departmental inventory of these items.
Assists with word processing, data entry, and internet searches.
Files monthly departmental account reconciliation with back-up documentation.
Assists with event planning for events, including reservations and details regarding event space, parking, catering, giveaways, compiling event materials, and related arrangements.
Makes copies and scans documents to electronic files.
Runs errands on campus.
Provides support functions for staff members.
Maintains office equipment; arranges for service calls as needed.
Processes and distributes mail.
Schedules appointments and arranges for meetings as needed.
Applicants working toward education degrees or related fields are preferred.
Experience working with data, event planning, and/or financial account reconciliation preferred.
