This position combines technical system administration with project leadership. The incumbent will integrate and support complex systems which provide core services to the organization and support our business systems. The person in this position will manage and administer servers, software and databases for a variety of applications including packaged applications and custom developed databases and applications.

This position has no responsibility for providing care to patients.


Essential Functions

  • Installs, Upgrades and Manages Operating Systems for Hospital Applications.

  • Provides high level troubleshooting support for Operating Systems and application software.

  • Proactively monitors and resolves problems with Operating Systems and applications.

  • Support all aspects of web and server-based application servers in a 24/7 environment.

  • Advises and consults on application problems with the application owners.

  • Conceptualize, design and assist in complex systems and applications to enhance business processes.

  • Ability to work within teams like Network, Firewall, storage and DBA teams to resolve problems.

  • Participates in a on-call rotation in a high availability environment.


  • Administration, configuration, installation and troubleshooting of different Operating Systems (Redhat, Ubuntu, Oracle Linux, Solaris and AIX)

  • Knowledge of Enterprise Hardware Platforms (Intel x86, Oracle, IBM)

  • Knowledge of VMware ESXI installation, configuration and administration.

  • Knowledge of Oracle’s VM Hypervisor software is a strong plus.

  • Knowledge of System Configuration Automation (Puppet, Chef, Ansible)

  • Knowledge of Scripting or Programming to make administration more efficient.

  • Knowledge of Backup software such as Netbackup is a strong plus

  • Networking knowledge is a plus

  • Database knowledge is also a plus.




  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.

  • Six years of equivalent experience.
