Job Summary

The Utah Clinical and Translational Science Institute ( CTSI ) is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our Clinical Research Support Office ( CRSO ) to support the OnCore Clinical Trials Management System. The OnCore Coordinator/Trainer is responsible for the development, planning, documentation, and delivery of training for OnCore and CRSO initiatives. The role will also provide OnCore application support and communication of CRSO activities to the University research community. Clinical research experience is highly recommended and familiarity with online database systems is recommended.

Responsibilities

Orchestrate and drive the successful and timely completion of training, orientation, and continuing education programs in a team environment that will:

  • Develop an annual training and education plan that requires creation and maintenance of training and support materials (in-person, virtual, recorded, and written)
  • Execute classroom training for system end users
  • Coordinate and track orientation of new/transfer employees to completion of OnCore and Epic Training
  • Monitor compliance with federal and patient services training policies and procedures
  • Understand and provide recommendations for application set up to align with organizational goals
  • Collaborate with OnCore end users, technical support, key stakeholders and organizational leadership, provide support to OnCore end users
  • Coordinate the evaluation of upgrades on the test environment and provide feedback to Advarra product support regarding the new functionality
  • Implement metrics to track OnCore adoption and present metrics to organizational leadership and identify requirements and develop reports to meet organizational reporting needs
  • Participate in training collaboration opportunities with OnCore and Epic teams
  • Provide communication of ongoing training activities, system updates, and CRSO initiatives to the research community

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or related area plus two years of training experience or equivalency required. Supervisory, project management and training development skills required. Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills also required. Master’s degree in a related area is preferred.

Preferences

Preferences will be given to individuals with the following skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with at least 2 years of experience in overseeing training and education
  • 2 – 3 years of experience in health care setting with clinical research experience
  • Ability to use creative and effective presentation skills to teach individuals or groups of 4-80 adults
  • Knowledgeable in the clinical research industry
  • Familiarity with Federal regulations regarding human subject research or research experience with human subjects
  • Capable of relating to diverse ages and demographic backgrounds and adapting training delivery
  • Willingness to work in a team environment and to adapt to a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, knowledge of website support a plus
  • Software training experience preferred but not required.
