Job Summary

This is an exempt and benefited position. Salary range is $70,000 – $75,000, with professional development funding of up to $2,500 annually. This position works in the Health Science buildings, with options for remote work on some days.

The System Administrator reports to the IT Project Manager and will be a SYSTECH operations team member. Scope of work includes supporting, developing, and maintaining all college server technologies. The individual in this position works closely with other members of the SYSTECH team to provide technology support for the College via ticketing system or zoom room support.

Areas of support include:

Microsoft Server hardware and virtual machines

System design, documentation, maintenance, and recovery

Zoom room end user support

Other IT responsibilities as assigned.

The individual in this position will become the primary point of contact for server infrastructure and services. In addition, this individual will work closely with Ops IT Specialists to maintain service levels.

Responsibilities

This role performs systems integration and support of Windows Servers, virtualization, storage area networks, and cloud computing. Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail are crucial as well as the ability to work independently and efficiently to meet deadlines.

Implement and support secure, trusted systems to ensure appropriate confidentiality and privacy of sensitive data in coordination with network, security and core teams.

Configure systems using Center for Internet Security ( CIS ) and/or vendor hardening recommendations in support of NIST security framework.

Deploy and maintain Windows 2012R2 to 2019 servers—both dedicated hardware and Hyper-V/cloud virtualized environments.

Maintain security ( SSL / PKI management), application patching, backup, and disaster recovery of the systems.

Monitor and optimize system capacity, performance, and utilization.

Manage, create, and maintain Failover Clusters, Active Directory and Group policy.

Perform SQL Server maintenance.

Build and maintain Firewall requests in coordination with Networking Ops IT.

Maintain backend inventory and asset configuration documentation.

Help maintain IT ticket queue and knowledgebase.

End user support via zoom room service desk.

Other IT responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires a bachelor’s degree in a related area or equivalency with at least 2 years of experience in the field or in a related area.

Preferences

Preference is given for a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalency.

Strong writing, organizational and project management skills

Previous Azure and AWS experience

Demonstratable PowerShell experience

Demonstratable Hyper-V experience

Previous MEMCM ( SCCM ) experience

Tanium Asset experience

Strong interpersonal communication and troubleshooting skills

MCSA or equivalent MS certificate is highly desired

A+, Security+, Project+ or other industry recognized technical certificates are highly desired

Broad understanding of hardware, network and software used in server environments

Self-Motivated out of the box thinker
