Job Summary

This position is responsible for supporting and assisting in the operation of the Surgical Knowledge Integration ( SKI ) Lab for surgical skills training at the University of Utah Orthopaedic Center ( UOC ). The incumbent works with residents, fellows, attending surgeons and external vendors to assist with the set-up, completion and clean-up of events held within the lab. This position does not include any patient care.

Responsibilities

·Assist with lab events in support of residents, fellows, attending surgeons and external vendors

· Oversee set-up, support and clean-up of lab activities including anatomy training, surgical skills training,

research projects, development of new surgical implants and instrumentation

· Work and coordinate with medical industry companies and representatives

· Receive and manage cadaveric specimen inventories

· Prepare cadaveric specimens for use during labs

· Set-up of equipment and instrumentation

· Clean-up and sanitization of the lab, equipment and instruments

· Inventory and re-stock supplies

· Willingness to work some evenings and weekends

Minimum Qualifications

Required

Entry level position.

Preferred

Work experience in a medical setting.

This position is patient-sensitive and must fulfill all associated requirements. · Prior experience working in an operating room as Surgical Technician or similar role preferred

· Some formal entry level medical training and/or work experience in a health care setting desirable
