Job Summary

| Study Coordinators are responsible for overseeing the human subjects research in the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine. They work with faculty to screen and recruit study participants into clinical trials as well as maintain regulatory compliance for the studies. Coordinators have a hybrid work schedule, working both remotely as well as on-site. Division of Cardiovascular Medicine

Responsibilities

  1. Recruits patients for research studies by screening the electronic medical record system
  2. Obtains informed consent from patients to participate in research studies
  3. Schedules and completes participant study visits and study procedures per protocol
  4. Collects, processes, and ships specimens per the study protocol.
  5. Schedules and participates in site initiation visits, monitoring visits, and close-out visits
  6. Maintains studies in the clinical trial management system ( CTMS )
  7. Enters study data into electronic case report forms (eCRF) in study databases
  8. Reports and tracks adverse events (AE) and serious adverse events ( SAE )
  9. Reconciles investigational drug and/or investigational devices
  10. Ensures regulatory requirements are met on research studies by maintaining and updating required regulatory documents
  11. Acts as a liaison between sponsors, clinical research organizations ( CRO ), and the University
  12. Prepares IRB new study submissions, amendments, and renewals

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience) required. IRB CITI Course in the Protection of Human Research subjects certificate obtained within six months of hire and demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills are also required.

This position is patient-sensitive and must fulfill all associated requirements. We protect our patients, coworkers and community by requiring all patient-sensitive employees to be immunized according to CDC standards and hospital policy. Limited exemptions may be made for documented medical contraindications or religious beliefs that object to vaccinations.

Some departments may require IATA DGR training within six months.
