Job Summary

The Student Engagement Assistant will support Student Leadership & Involvement ( SLI ) in managing and promoting the University’s digital engagement platform, Campus Connect. Using effective communication skills, this position will help students, faculty, and staff better utilize Campus Connect and will provide support as needed to track engagement on the platform. This position works primarily on campus (in person). This position is ideal for individuals seeking experience in communication and student involvement.

This position may be eligible for fun perks, including but not limited to football tickets, free University of Utah Swag, and access to some campus-wide events. Successful candidates will need to work in collaboration with SLI staff and The Office of Financial Aid to determine eligibility and impacts to student aid before accepting such perks.

This position will report to the Student Organizations Coordinator, Josh Olszewski.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with day-to-day maintenance and management of Campus Connect.
  • Assists assessment efforts by generating involvement and usage reports.
  • Develops training materials for Campus Connect.
  • Facilitates training on how to use Campus Connect, for students and campus partners.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be a current University of Utah student in good standing with the university and maintain that status throughout employment.
  • Ability to work effectively in a diverse office setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience using computer software like Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Demonstrated skill to work effectively with students, parents, and university officials.
