DEPARTMENTOFCHEMISTRY,UNIVERSITYOFUTAH. We are currently seeking a structural biologist to support theUSTARSynthetic and Medicinal Chemistry Core Facility. The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. in biochemistry structural biology and relevant experience in protein biochemistry, protein purification and crystallization. Must have conducted research that may be shared during the interview process. Function well within multidisciplinary teams and possess outstanding communication skills. Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
Candidates will work closely between laboratories in the Department of Chemistry and the Department of Biochemistry to solve structures of small-molecule / protein /RNAcomplexes. Candidates will also be encouraged to mentor students at the undergraduate or graduate level.
Ph.D. in biochemistry / structural biology
Experience with CryoEM is highly desirable.
We are looking for energetic team players that will interface with highly interdisciplinary groups of researchers within the University of Utah and with local industry, thus candidates must possess strong written and oral communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
