This position combines technical storage administration with Project leadership. The incumbent will integrate and support complex storage environments which provide core services to the organization and support our business services. The person in this position will manage and administer SAN switches, storage replication, file shares, block and NAS storage for a variety of applications including various Databases, Hypervisors, and Operating Systems. This position has no responsibility for providing care to patients.

Responsibilities

  • Installs, upgrades, manages, and integrates storage solutions.

  • Provides high level troubleshooting support for storage and services utilizing storage.

  • Proactively monitors and resolves problems with storage and services utilizing storage.

  • Installs, upgrades, manages, and configures servers/VMs needed to support the various storage solutions.

  • Collaboratively investigates outages and issues to correct problems and properly address risks.

  • Evaluates, tests, and documents on new storage solutions.

  • Creates and improves automation/scripts to make the storage solutions more efficient.

  • Documents new and existing storage environments.

  • Conceptualizes, designs, advises, consults on existing and new complex systems and services. Integrates those systems and services with the various storage solutions.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

  • In-depth knowledge in designing, installation, monitoring, and performance analysis of enterprise storage systems.

  • Expertise in a variety of block and file storage technologies, including NetApp (7-mode and Cluster-mode), HP 3Par, and HDS storage solutions.

  • Experience with SAN switching in an Enterprise-class environment with highly available SAN fabric, including Brocade SAN switches and Brocade Network Advisor.

  • Demonstrated experience identifying performance bottlenecks in a storage environment, including latency within the storage array, FC switching, and client connection protocols (FC, CIFS, NFS.

  • Additional relevant experience including storage task automation experience, server hardware (HP), VMware, host operating systems (Unix, Linux, ESX, and Windows.

  • Designing new storage solutions to meet the needs of our customers.

  • Ensuring stability and availability of the storage platforms.

  • Coordinating with Operations to ensure stability and completeness of our solutions.

  • Providing exceptional customer service.

  • Willingness to work with engineering and operations team members to ensure stability and performance of storage solutions.

  • An emphasis on business needs and customer relations.

  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.

  • Excellent customer and team relationship skills.

  • Ability to work well with other bright individuals both technical and not.

  • Strong documentation skills.

  • Ability to adapt and learn new concepts and technologies.

  • Able to work under stress and handle multiple critical priorities.

Qualifications

Qualifications Required

  • Bachelors degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.

  • Three years of storage engineering/administrative experience in a large enterprise environment.
