The focus of this position will be software development within a variety of areas including Visualization, Graphics, Scientific Computing, Imaging Processing, Development Operations, and Computer Modeling and Simulation for the Scientific Computing and Imaging (SCI) Institute at the University of Utah.
A particular focus of this position will involve working with Institute software projects that are distributed to Institute collaborators and other users. This position will interact with personnel ranging from senior researchers (Ph.D. level) to students. The responsibilities breakdown is:
- 85% Developing, testing assorted institute code bases for internal purposes, open source release, and commercial development
- 5% Managing code bases including management of repositories/servers
- 10% user interaction and group meetings.
Requires a bachelor’s degree in a related area or equivalency and 3-5 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
The position will work on a variety of software projects within theSCIInstitute. Experience with C++ is required.
Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.
Experience with OpenGL, OpenCL, Github, and wxWidgets is preferred. Being self-motivated and having good organizational and communication skills is essential.
