Job Summary

Designs, modifies, develops, writes and implements software programming applications. Supports and/or installs software applications/operating systems. Participates in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing and certification of software. Following general guidelines and accepted technical approaches performs tasks in the design, development, and implementation of software engineering applications, the analysis and investigation of software engineering project tasks, the definition of design specifications and parameters, development and application of standard routines and utility programs, resolution of hardware/software compatibility and interface design considerations and analysis of system architecture requirements and structure.

Responsibilities

•Work closely with business users to determine scope and deliverables of software projects

•Design, develop, test, implement and maintain applications working with established processes

•Recommend changes to improve established applications

•Serve as a core member of an agile team

•Investigate reported software problems and conduct tests to isolate problems and root cause in order to prepare clear incident reports for further investigation

Comments:

Assignments are defined in terms of general objectives and are of diverse scope and moderate technical complexity. May assign work to lower level technical support employees. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision; typically reports to a manager. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires a bachelor’s degree in a related area or equivalency and 4-6 years of experience in the field or in a related area.

Preferences

•3-5 years of Java, J2EE development experience

•Excellent analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities

•Exceptional organizational and communication skills

•Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, study teams and project managers
