Job Summary
Reporting to the Office for Global Engagement Marketing Manager, the Social Media Assistant plays an integral role in content strategy, creation, and execution for the office’s social media channels (primarily Instagram and Facebook).
Responsibilities
The Social Media Assistant will produce polished photo, video and design content, have strong storytelling skills, and a comprehensive knowledge of social media best practices.
This position will require attendance and documentation of events related to the Office for Global Engagement, the U Asia Campus, and other affiliated offices. Additional effort/hours will be required leading up to International Education Week (mid-November).
The Social Media Assistant engages in brainstorming and team meetings to generate ideas for promoting events, initiatives, and the international activity of the U via social media.
With guidance and support from a supervisor, they will independently create content for and publish social posts using a scheduling tool, monitoring for and encouraging engagement once live.
The Social Media Assistant also tracks analytics, creates reports, and reviews past efforts to determine effectiveness and guide future strategies.
This position will regularly collaborate with various areas within the University of Utah to support marketing efforts through social platforms.
Other reception, clerical, and office duties as assigned, such as coordinating events and assisting with special projects and initiatives.
