Job Summary
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the creation of an appropriate installation of interior and exterior signs, banners, posters and leader boards, Building and Office Signs and Name Plates. This person will be responsible for all general production of signs and graphic materials. The goal is to efficiently produce signage solutions for our customers at the highest quality, and best service.

This position is considered Category I: Mandatory and required on campus or health care facilities to support on-site operations. Employees hired into this category will be required to be physically located at designated assigned building on the University of Utah campus if they are healthy and without COVID -19 symptoms
Responsibilities
1.Meets with directors, managers, or requesting department representatives to plan and develop a variety of directional and warning signs, displays, banners, department and building signage etc.
2.Designs requested signs, displays or banners by hand or with computer graphic software.
3.Constructs signs, displays or banners requiring carpentry, hand painting, vinyl lettering, engraving, computer generation, CNC Router etc.
4.Installs, hangs or affixes signs, displays or banners according to University Regulations and safety requirements to properly inform, warn or direct individuals.
5.Maintains as required all existing signs, displays or banners.
6.Engraves all name tags and name plates.
7.Maintains supply base including machinery, paints, engraving stock, vinyl lettering, tools and graphic materials.
8.Keeps records of transactions, supplies, time and materials used in projects completed.
9.Initiates invoicing as required to ensure proper cost distribution.
10.Serves on numerous committees requiring assistance with the design, construction and installation of posters and banners.
Minimum Qualifications
Four years of directly related experience; demonstrated knowledge and use of required tools including but not limited to silk screening, engraving, computer assisted sign making, etc.; and demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills required. This position has no responsibility for providing care to patients.
Preferences
Four years of directly related experience. Demonstrates knowledge and use of required tools including but not limited to CNC Router, engraving, computer assisted Vinyl sign making, etc.; and demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills required.
Valid Driver’s License.
