University of Utah Health Service Line Director - Huntsman Cancer Hospital in SALT LAKE CITY, Utah

Overview

The Huntsman Cancer Hospital and University of Utah Health are seeking an experienced and strategic leader, with 6+ years of proven leadership in outpatient clinic operations, to join our senior leadership team as our new Service Line Director over Outpatient Clinics and Infusion!

This Service Line Director position provides senior-level direction over the operations and strategic planning for outpatient clinic operations. The incumbent oversees human resources, customer/patient services, and financial management for assigned units of operations in supporting the goals and mission. The incumbent acts as a catalyst between departments, faculty, physicians and staff to ensure continuity and quality of service.

This position has no responsibility for providing care to patients.

Department Overview: This position reports directly to the Executive Director of the Huntsman Cancer Hospital and directs the operations and strategic planning of customer/patient services for outpatient services in support of the goals and mission of the organization.

Corporate Overview: Huntsman Cancer Institute at the University of Utah is a nationally recognized research center and treatment hospital in Salt Lake City.   • Responsible to provide staff feedback on performance, including on-time appraisals and coaching.

  • Forms positive relationships with staff, peers, and senior leadership to support the mission, vision, values, and performance standards of the organization.

  • Actively engages staff with updates and news as well as involving staff in decisions and work teams. Provides feedback and recognition when appropriate.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined above.

  • Demonstrated leadership, human relations, and effective communication skills.

  • Ability to determine the appropriate staff mixes to support patient and customer needs.

  • Knowledge of hospital business operations and demonstrated strategic planning skills.

  • Knowledge of budgeting practices, reporting analysis, and forecasting.

Qualifications

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Health Care Administration, Business Administration, or related area, or equivalency.

  • Six years of progressive management experience.

Qualifications (Preferred)

Preferred

  • Master's degree in Health Care Administration, Business Administration, or related area.

  • Experience in outpatient oncology operations.

  • Five years of management experience in an oncology setting.
