Job Summary

We are looking for a senior marketing specialist with sharp account management skills and marketing strategy expertise to join our Marketing + Communications team at the David Eccles School of Business. You will develop the marketing strategy and key target audiences for the eight specialized master’s programs (SMPs) at the Eccles School.

As a senior marketing specialist, you will use historical application and enrollment data to develop a comprehensive, annual marketing strategy. On a large scale, you will determine the funnels through which students enroll in the SMPs and then create a marketing strategy including tactics, advertising and messaging to appropriately engage each audience for each program. Additionally, you will use data to seek new audiences and find new market segments.

You will also serve as the account manager to the Master of Science in Information Systems (MSIS), Master of Science in Information Systems Online (MSISO) and Master of Science in Business Analytics (MSBA) programs. You will execute on the strategies you outline for each audience in regards to theMSIS/MSISO/MSBAprograms in order to increase program awareness, applications and enrollments. You will work closely with program directors and staff, be well aware of enrollment goals and how applicants are moving down the funnel, and proactively offer marketing recommendations to help reach enrollment goals. Additionally, you will use data to discover target audiences, create appropriate messaging, and develop program collateral. Lastly, you will guide the second M+C team member who focuses on the remaining SMPs.

Ultimately, you will oversee the marketing strategy, tactics, and communications for the SMPs, while executing on strategies for theMSIS/MSISO/MSBAprograms to ensure they are on-track to meet enrollment goals and grow as directed by the dean of the Eccles School.

Responsibilities

General Duties

Designs, coordinates, and executes a wide range of communications. Performs a variety of writing, design, and marketing tasks while using good judgment and strong interpersonal skills to plan and execute communications strategies. Utilizes traditional and digital publishing technologies to produce communications that implement project objectives.

Essential Functions

-Developing a comprehensive marketing strategy for the SMPs including determining enrollment funnels. 40%

-Creating and executing on marketing strategies for theMSIS/MSISO/MSBAprograms. 20%

-Account management with the programs to report on marketing initiatives and check in on goals. 20%

-Analyzing data from marketing campaigns and program applications. 10%

-Writing reports for senior managers, clients and partner organizations. 5%

-Collaborating with the Marketing and Communications department and other key stakeholders to concept campaigns and project ideas. 5%

Your day-to-day duties will include:

-Taking a lead role in developing the marketing strategy for the specialized master’s programs

-Analyzing data to determine main enrollment funnels and how to best engage them

-Attending meetings with program directors and staff to plan, develop and report on marketing campaigns

-Optimizing marketing campaigns and strategies

-Updating websites, brochures and other marketing collateral

-Analyzing application data to better strategize marketing and find new audiences

-Developing messaging and marketing tactics for multiple target audiences

-Guiding another staff member as they execute on strategy for the remaining SMPs

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree English, Journalism, Communications, or related field plus 3 years of related experience, or equivalency; excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills; familiarity with a variety of computer software; project management and strong interpersonal skills; ability to work both individually and in a team setting.

Some areas may require additional experience with specific computer systems and may require skills in interviewing, ad copy writing, editing, photography, web writing, graphic design, audio & video production, and oral presentation.

Master’s degree in a related field may be preferred.
