Job Summary
The position has overall responsibility for the systems, technology, data, and analytics needs of the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid. Primary responsibilities include the efficient and effective operation of systems involved with service, processing, and reporting for scholarships and student financial aid programs; ensuring all forms of technology are well utilized and maintained; serving as an effective data manager/steward and managing office data dashboards; managing system and data security; remaining current on regulations and high-impact practices for areas of responsibility; and serving as an effective manager of the systems and data area as well as a collegial partner in the management of the office.
Responsibilities
Reviews, analyzes, and modifies programming systems including encoding, testing, debugging and installing to support an organization’s application systems. Consults with users to identify current operating procedures and to clarify program objectives. May be expected to write documentation to describe program development, logic, coding, and corrections. Writes manuals for users to describe installation and operating procedures.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related area, or the equivalency, and at least 5 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description. Must have a working knowledge of relational databases and client-server concepts.

Preferences
Prefer experience with PeopleSoft, or substantial experience with other student information systems within a large, research-intensive university setting. Prefer demonstrated experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals while successfully performing a variety of complicated tasks involving the administration of student financial aid programs. Prefer experience leading and directing the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
