Job Summary

Works specifically with University Marketing & Communications (UMC) and the University’s Development Office to manage a wide array of marketing projects. Conceptualizes marketing strategies, objectives and creative platforms to support the Development Office. Coordinates the production, delivery and distribution of necessary marketing materials related to the upcoming Capital Campaign, as well as the ongoing needs of the Development Office.

Responsibilities

1.Leadership in managing Development Office marketing strategies, objectives and tactics.

2.Consults with Development Office leadership to determine needs and strategies.

3.Is a member of theUMCteam and will attend all weekly and periodic meetings relating to theUMCteam.

4.Acts as aUMCaccount executive to ensure quality control and timely product delivery.

5.Simultaneously manages multiple ongoing projects with varying deadlines as well as numerous working relationships.

6.Collaborates withUMCcreative team to coordinate the creative concept development for each marketing project.

7.Working knowledge of tracking effectiveness of marketing/promotional campaigns through digital data analysis, includingSEO, Google Ads, etc., and then working to improve future campaigns.

8.Proficient in leading, implementing and maintaining social media strategies to support fund-raising marketing efforts.

9.Supporting and collaborating withUMCproduction manager to procure and place advertising messaging to targeted audiences.

10.Develop and deliver live presentations to various sized groups, utilizing presentation software including Keynote, PowerPoint, Prezi or similar programs.

11.Collaborates withUMCpublic relations team to develop ongoing public relations materials, such as press releases, calendar listings, and public service announcements.

12.Proofreads and edits various materials as needed.

13.This person, while being aUMCemployee, will be housed in the Development Office.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communication, English or related field, plus ten years professional experience in marketing, advertising, copywriting, directing publication projects or equivalency. Demonstrated ability to develop and manage effective print and broadcast media campaigns. Must possess excellent grammar, proofreading, human relation and effective communication skills.

Experience with broadcast production, studio photography direction, postal regulations and costing-out jobs is preferred.

This position is not responsible for providing patient care.

Preferences

Familiarity with digital marketing strategies, project management (utilizing project management programs), fund-raising strategies, social media direction, postal regulations and job costing is strongly preferred.
