Job Summary
Research Associate functions as required by Dr. Korenberg, the Principal Investigator, and her designated associates in the Departments of Neurology and Pediatrics, and the CTSI , helping to oversee the development and delivery of a major trans- NIH translational research initiative for Down Syndrome and co-occurring conditions including Alzheimer’s Disease, Autistic spectrum disorders, and neurological and immune diseases.
Responsibilities
- Creation and performance of novel recruitment processes and protocols involving the Utah Population Database, Utah Birth Defects Network, etc., together with site staff and the Colorado Data Coordinating Center teams.
- Training and development of study staff, program initiatives, ensuring team is managed to project requirements, specification, time, and budget.
- Day-to-day high-level support to the PI, assisting in the implementation of robust program management processes and protocols, in line with best practice, as well as representing the PI as appropriate, and assisting in writing grants and reports.
- Deliver project events, such as research collaboration meetings, road-mapping workshops, and seminars, and coordinate community outreach, ensuring meeting minutes and actions are approved and distributed.
- Routinely monitor all activities, review risks, issues, and progress, taking actions as necessary to ensure satisfaction of program deadlines.
- Participate in all aspects of subject interaction and data acquisition and handling.
- Maintain up-to-date records that enable effective monitoring, control, and evaluation of assigned program activities.
