Job Summary

We are seeking a Research Assistant Analyst to work with an investigator at the Huntsman Cancer Institute on health communication studies. These studies include examining communication about genetic information within families and the public’s attitudes about data sharing. This position will assist in gathering, organizing, and analyzing study data.

Responsibilities

This is a full-time position. The duties of the position will include:

•Recruitment of study participants

•ManagingIRBsubmissions

•Collecting data through methods such as interviews and surveys

•Entering data

•Coding qualitative interview data

•Analyzing quantitative data

•Maintaining files and records of research data

•Assisting with the preparation and submission of scientific papers and presentations

•Assisting the investigator with other tasks as needed

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a Social or Behavioral Science, Liberal Arts, or a field related to the area of research, or equivalency; one year of experience in research and analytical techniques; demonstrated statistical and quantitative analysis experience; and demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills required.

Preferences

Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree in public health, communication, psychology, or a related field with at least one year of research experience. The applicant should have excellent oral and written communication skills, and be detail oriented with strong organizational skills. She or he should be able to work independently and as part of a team.
