Job Summary

Clinical Research Assistant and Patient Engagement Position — WORK - STUDY

This position is for a Clinical Research Assistant to support research projects funded by the Patient Centered Outcomes Research Institute and other federal granting agencies including the NIH and DoD. The projects are clinical trials examining different treatments for individuals with chronic pain. The Clinical Research Assistant will work under the direction and supervision of the projects’ Principal Investigator (Julie Fritz), and will be responsible for assisting the research team with phone calls to participants or potential participants with interest in enrolling.

1.Assist the Principal Investigator in the development of study protocols.

2.Monitor and manage participant recruitment into research projects, enrollment, and tracking including strategies to meet enrollment and compliance goals.

3.Assist investigators with recognizing, tracking and reporting adverse events and protocol deviations.

Minimum Qualifications

1.Pursuing a Bachelors degree in a health or social science or related field.

2.Completion of CITI Human Subjects Certification within one year of hire required.

3.Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills also required.

4.Experience with Redcap software and basic Microsoft office computing skills

5.Knowledge of Good Clinical Practices, HIPAA and IRB regulations; an understanding of research procedures; and the ability to function independently is preferred.

6.Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.
