The Social Research Institute seeks a Research Analyst to work as an Implementation Facilitator for programs serving adolescents who are receiving substance abuse treatment and/or involved in the juvenile justice system. An Implementation Facilitator evaluates and improves social service programs using the principles of Implementation Science. This position involves working closely with directors and staff of community based programs, therefore, strong interpersonal skills, public speaking skills, and an ability to motivate are necessary. A highly curious person with a clinical background who likes improving things is likely to enjoy this type of work.

The work requires both independent work and collaboration withSRIinternal team as well as daily contact with community programs.
This is a full-time position, with local and travel across Utah up to about 40% time.
The Research Analyst will work with social service programs across the state of Utah. Each program is enrolled in a multiyear improvement process that includes the following components for which the successful candidate will be responsible:
1) Conducting on-site evaluations of program quality using a structured assessment;
2) Collecting data including surveys and administrative data;
3) Developing a program improvement plan in collaboration with the program;
4) Working with program staff to motivate and ensure the improvement plan is implemented;
5) Presenting evaluation and improvement results to state-level administration.

Bachelor’s degree in a related scientific field, or equivalency, plus two years of related experience. Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills required. A valid Utah Driver’s License may be required in certain departments.
• Master’s Degree in a social service field desired, Bachelor’s degree in a social service field required.
• A strong desire to improve the quality of social service programming
• The ability to establish strong, working alliances with program administration and staff, often using Motivational Interviewing principles
• Understanding of evidence-based practice for Adolescents
• Current knowledge of or willingness to learn the following content: 1) Principles of Implementation Science; 2) Evidence-based practices and principles for adolescent substance abuse and juvenile offending, including relapse prevention and the principles of Risk, Need, and Responsivity.
• Ability to translate evidence-based principles for non-technical audiences
• Adept with MS office applications (i.e. Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
• Ability to pass a background check
• A valid drivers license
