Job Summary

Performs the routine preventative maintenance and repair of commercial and residential HVAC systems including: rooftop units, split systems, furnaces, boilers, unit heaters, make-up air units, swamp coolers, ice machines, walk in coolers/freezers, and small chiller systems.

This position may be required to be on-call and to work a variety of shifts within a 24 hour period.

Responsibilities

1) The servicing and repair of various types of HVAC and refrigeration equipment.

2) The handling of various types of refrigerants in accordance with EPA guidelines and reccomendations.

3) Excellent customers service provided to our campus community on a daily basis.

4) Other duties as assigned. As a member of a small crew you will often have to assist other members of the team

in order to get the work done. You may be asked to assist an electrician, HVAC mechanic, plumber, etc.

Minimum Qualifications

A minimum of three years experience in refrigeration repair, or equivalency; demonstrated experience in silver-soldering; a working knowledge of refrigerants used in commercial and residential applications; demonstrated customer services skills; and oral and written communications skills required. Technical training in refrigeration and electrical controls preferred. Must be licensed, or receive licensing within six months of hire, by the Environmental Protection Agency to diagnose and repair air conditioning units using the freon recovery system.
