Job Summary

We are seeking highly motivated student to work up to 20 hours/week for an NIH -funded grant. Work duties will include supporting the Master Health Coach (Study Manager) for dissemination and implementation of MAINTAIN PRIME , an electronic health record-based weight maintenance study. Students at this level will do their work under the direction of the Master Health Coach and health coach study members. The successful candidate is eager to learn innovative health coaching approaches in a real-life setting and has interest in learning and having research training. Actual responsibilities will vary according to the study’s timeline. The successful candidate for this position will assist in the completion of the study coaching protocol while maintaining compliance with guidelines set by the study and government agencies.

This position is considered Category IIA : Not required on campus and has the ability to telework remotely for the duration of the University of Utah’s response to COVID -19. An employee hired into this role will be responsible for providing space, telephone, printing, networking and/or internet capabilities at the telecommute location and agree to the terms of the University of Utah campus and Health Academics COVID -19 Telecommuting Agreement.

Responsibilities

Actual responsibilities will vary according to the study’s timeline. The immediate study needs are assisting in the completion of the coaching manual, and other study materials and protocols.

Minimum Qualifications

This position is patient-sensitive and must fulfill all associated requirements. We protect our patients, coworkers and community by requiring all patient-sensitive employees to be immunized according to CDC standards and hospital policy. Limited exemptions may be made for documented medical contraindications or religious beliefs that object to vaccinations.

Preferences

Not required on campus and able to telework during duration of the University of Utah’s response to COVID -19. Employees and/or functions where employees are able to work remotely in order to maintain campus systems, campus operations, clinical operations, and patient care.
