Job Summary

Our research team led by Dr. Yelena Wu at Huntsman Cancer Institute is hiring a part-time Research Assistant/Analyst to support the delivery and evaluation of a skin cancer prevention intervention in high schools throughout Utah. The Research Assistant/Analyst will prepare materials for school visits, communicate with high school staff to coordinate visit logistics, lead school intervention and assessment visits, and communicate with participants to encourage study participation. The Research Assistant/Analyst will also create reports of study activities and outcomes, which will involve data cleaning and running basic descriptive statistics. Job duties will involve travel to schools throughout the state, with some overnight visits being necessary. Secondary responsibilities may include providing assistance on related projects.

Responsibilities

Research Assistant/Analyst responsibilities include, but may not be limited to, the following:

· Establishing trusting and collaborative relationships with teachers, other school staff, and families participating in research studies

· Preparation of materials and staff for school visits

· Utilizing a structured protocol to lead classroom activities for skin cancer prevention and collect survey data from students

· Documenting activities and outcomes in appropriate databases

· Compiling reports summarizing study progress

· Attending team meetings to discuss progress, successes, and challenges

· Participating in ongoing training to maintain fidelity to protocols and other research required training

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a Social or Behavioral Science, Liberal Arts, or a field related to the area of research, or equivalency; one year of experience in research and analytical techniques; demonstrated statistical and quantitative analysis experience; and demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills required..

This position is patient-sensitive and must fulfill all associated requirements.
