This position will require travel from Odgen to Provo. This position is considered Category I: Mandatory and required on campus or health care facilities to support on-site operations. Employees hired into this category will be required to be physically located at individual homes and local fire stations if they are healthy and without COVID -19 symptoms.
Obtains blood specimens by established venipuncture and capillary techniques. Performs cheek swap specimens. Labels samples, sends specimens to the laboratory for analysis, and completes essential records. Maintains records of tests performed and samples taken. Enters and retrieves computer data. Delivers samples to off-site draw sites and laboratories. May perform special tests such as clotting time, bleeding time, and glucose tolerance test. May check client’s picture identification and obtain photographs and fingerprints.
Work Environment and Level of Frequency that may be required:
Nearly Continuously: Office environment.
Often: Infectious disease, oils ( there is air or skin exposure to oils or other cutting fluids ), hazards ( includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, or exposure to chemicals ).
Physical Requirements and Level of Frequency that may be required
Nearly Continuously: Hearing, listening, talking.
Often: Repetitive hand motion (such as typing), walking, standing, sitting.
Seldom: Bending, reaching overhead.
Six months phlebotomy experience; demonstrated computer skills; and demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills required. Phlebotomy Technician certification is preferred.
This position is patient-sensitive and must fulfill all associated requirements.
