The Division of Pediatric Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation is looking for a full-time Nurse Practitioner to join an innovative team of providers in the Pediatric Comprehensive Care Program at the University of Utah and Primary Children’s Hospital. The Nurse Practitioner will collaboratively deliver coordinated and goal-directed care for children with medical complexities, technology-dependencies and disabilities across the continuum.
•The Nurse Practitioner will provide inpatient and outpatient specialty consultations for children with medical complexity at Primary Children’s Hospital, in collaboration with a team of physicians, social workers and care managers.
•Conduct patient evaluations, including obtaining histories, performing physical examinations, formulating comprehensive care plans and documenting clinical encounters; coordination of care plans among multiple subspecialists is an integral function of this role.
•During hours when the clinician is not actively seeing inpatients, contribute to our innovative system of team-based patient care through outpatient comprehensive care clinics, provision of indirect care, care coordination with multiple providers, and participation in quality improvement initiatives. All clinical activities will be documented in collaboration with the attending physicians.

Often: Infectious disease, oils ( there is air or skin exposure to oils or other cutting fluids ), hazards ( includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, or exposure to chemicals ).

Licensure to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in the State of Utah. Nationally certified as a Nurse Practitioner as required under State Law. Certification inACLS/BLS/NRP/ATLSmay be required by your department or by privileging criteria. Demonstrated clinical competence and in-depth knowledge of specialty area; and demonstrated leadership, teaching, research and communication skills are required.
Utah State prescriptive privileges preferred.
Licensure is obtained by completing a Master’s degree in Nursing or equivalency (the only equivalency to the Master’s degree is current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner) and a National Certification which requires the successful completion of a nationally accredited examination.UHPPM1-56 requires that newly hired non-physician providers apply for credentialing and privileging at the time of hire.
