Job Summary
Responsibilities
• Prepares equipment and treatment area for patient care.
• Directs patients to appropriate treatment area.
• Assists patients with transfers on/off exercise equipment.
• Performs equipment adjustments as needed for individual participants.
• Provides general supervision of exercise activities including monitoring of clients during exercise to assure safety and to provide verbal feedback as necessary in regards to proper execution and form.
• Monitors vital statistics pre-, during and post-exercise including heart rate, blood pressure and blood glucose measurements and reports adverse reactions.
• Conducts manual stretching exercise for clients
• Ensures safety of patient in clinic at all times, but also aids with balance and ambulation activities.
• Assists with record keeping of clinic data.
• Maintains clinic cleanliness and organization.
Work Environment and Level of Frequency that may be required:
Nearly Continuously: Office environment.
Seldom: Infectious disease, oils ( there is air or skin exposure to oils or other cutting fluids ).
Physical Requirements and Level of Frequency that may be required
Nearly Continuously: Hearing, listening, talking, standing, walking.
Often: Repetitive hand motion (such as typing), sitting.
Seldom: Bending, reaching overhead.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma, or equivalency; Interest in health care or fitness related field; Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service; Enthusiastic attitude toward fitness and exercise, and effective communication skills.
Students majoring in health related fields or persons with experience in rehabilitation services and exercise training preferred.
Current Basic Life Support Card or completion of certification within one month of hire. Completion HIPAA certification during first week of employment
This position is patient-sensitive and must fulfill all associated requirements.
