Job Summary

Provides complex administrative support for department management and faculty within the Department of Neurosurgery.

This position is considered Category I: Mandatory and required on campus or health care facilities to support on-site operations. Employees hired into this category will be required to be physically located at the Clinical Neurosciences Center if they are healthy and without COVID -19 symptoms.

Responsibilities

Job Functions

1. Provides administrative support to upper-level department management by scheduling appointments, coordinating meetings and conferences, scheduling frequent travel.

2. May be responsible for maintaining and ordering office supplies and other department property.

3. May schedule, plan and coordinate work actions of support staff as a team lead.

4. Maintains financial records, such as reconciling accounts, preparing expenditure statements, and tracking certain expense categories.

5. Collects, organizes and analyzes data for specialized reports.

6. Coordinates the collection and preparation of operating reports such as call schedules.

7. Assists with the implementation of department and University policies and procedures.

8. May be responsible for faculty/employee onboarding and advancement.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate degree in business or equivalency (2 years related work experience may be substituted for 1 year of education) and three years full-time secretarial experience required. Demonstrated human relations and effective written and verbal communication skills required. Knowledge of basic bookkeeping practices and direct supervisory experience preferred.
