Provides support to Caring Connections and the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner ( PMHNP ) clinical program. Caring Connections is a hope and comfort in grief program operated by the College of Nursing. Caring Connections offers a variety of grief support groups. Each support groups helps individuals cope with a different kind of loss. Plans and implements activities of the Caring Connections program, ensuring goals and objectives are in accordance with established criteria. Updates program materials policies, interacts with and advises program participants. This position involves sensitive and caring interactions with a variety of patient populations.
This position is considered Category IIA : Not required on campus and has the ability to telework remotely for the duration of the University of Utah’s response to COVID -19. An employee hired into this role will be responsible for providing space, telephone, printing, networking and/or internet capabilities at the telecommute location and agree to the terms of the University of Utah campus and Health Academics COVID -19 Telecommuting Agreement.
Provide logistics, establish grief groups through registration intake, communicate with participants by email and phone, collect and account for funds, provide class materials to participants and coordinate with group facilitators.
Uses Epic to schedule clinical appointments and collect co-pays of individual counseling clients and to run provider reports.
Prepares departmental deposits, P Card allocations and donations. Works with Trust Commerce to run credit cards.
Oversees daily program operations and coordinates program activities and events (some of which are in the evenings).
Assists in developing and implementing program goals and objectives.
Monitors program quality and effectiveness and researches improvement methods.
Assists in establishing program budget; monitors related expenditures and ensures budget goals are met.
Assists with fundraising activities (some of which are in the evenings).
Uses ASTRA for the reservation of rooms needed for the program and arranges parking as needed.
Interfaces with Print and Mail on printing of Newsletter, Grief Group flyers, Manuals, Sudden & Unexpected Death Book and other printing and mailing needs.
Assigns, directs and reviews work of Student interns and works directly with the Advisory Board to communicate and make assignments.
Provide administrative support to upper level department management by scheduling appointments, coordinating meetings and conferences and maintaining and ordering office supplies.
Bachelor’s degree in a related field (psychology, social sciences, nursing) plus one year directly related experience or equivalency required. Demonstrated ability to work independently, analyze and make decisions related to program content. Strong coordination and organizational skills required to prioritize conflicting deadlines. Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills are also required.
This position is patient-sensitive and must fulfill all associated requirements. Demonstrated ability to work independently, analyze and make decisions related to program objectives.
Experience with community organizations, community networking, managing financial records, outstanding interpersonal relationship skills are strongly preferred.
Excellent writing and editing skills are strongly preferred.
Familiarity with budgeting procedures.
Computer skills include word processing, excel sheets managing large databases, updating and managing large files.
