Job Summary

Assists in the production of program materials by performing a wide range of functions including, but not limited to: scheduling, coordinating, videography, editing, photography and social media.

  • This position is grant funded until December 31, 2019.

Responsibilities

Assist in the daily and advance scheduling of events and projects. Gather, organize and coordinate materials needed for various programs.

May write drafts of scripts and inner script segments for television or online production.

Serve on the crew as a camera operator and perform other related production functions on assignment.

Create motion and still graphics for use in productions.

Follow organization’s social media policies and use social media (specifically Instagram stories and Facebook Live) to promote the Utah Education Network and UtahFutures American Graduate missions.

May assist in publication design of course manuals and marketing materials.

Ensure that final productions meetADAcompliance andFCCstandards by closed captioning the videos.

Help ensure that productions meet the needs of the public and that the image of the department and University are upheld.

Assist in transcoding media for distribution in online platforms and broadcast television.

Problem Solving

This position has authority to make creative decisions that will affect how a production will look, what research methods to use, and what information to include or exclude in a specific production. Final decisions and approvals are made by the producer.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Media Arts, or a related field, or equivalency; one year previous experience; and demonstrated analytical, oral and written communication skills required.

Preferences

Qualified candidates should be proficient using Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe Photoshop and use ofDSLRcameras. Candidates who demonstrate a basic knowledge of Adobe After Effects and use of social media for promoting a business or non-profit will be given a preference.
