Job Summary

MultipleNIH-funded full-time postdoctoral position is immediately available in the Center for Integrated Neuroscience and Human Behavior. Mentor and Professor is seeking a highly motivated scientist to work on a project doing three-dimensional reconstruction of the primate neural circuitry at the axon level, with aims to develop a genetic connectome and understand the genetics of emotion/social behavior. This is an exciting opportunity for scientific advancement while working as part of the Human Connectome project.

This is a high-level position and a superb opportunity for a talented individual to play a key role in the advancement of cross-disciplinary research leading to the development of innovative commercial products.


• Acquisition of high quality confocal microscopy images

• Organization & management of large quantities of image data for integration and reconstruction using advanced software techniques currently under development in collaboration with software developers at theSCIInstitute

• Protocol debugging

• Algorithm debugging and testing

• Oversee systems integration of code generated by the grant into a workflow between microscope and data storage & review

• Development & validation of the microscopic imaging protocol

• Oversee systems integration into a workflow between microscope, data storage and data review

• Data and IT management

• Detailed record keeping

• Writing up and communicating results

• Writing research papers and grants

• General lab functions

Minimum Qualifications

Experience with detailed scientific techniques.

Scripting and some programming and IT management skills.

Passionate and devoted scientist willing to fully devote time and skills to the advancement of research goals.
