Job Summary

We have an immediate vacancy for a postdoctoral research associate to conduct cardiac arrhythmia research in the Nora Eccles Harrison Cardiovascular Research and Training Institute ( CVRTI ) at the University of Utah (https://cvrti.utah.edu/). CVRTI provides a highly collaborative, interdisciplinary research environment. The candidate will work on NIH funded, translational research projects seeking to improve medical device technology for patients with cardiac arrhythmias. The candidate will work under the mentorship of Dr. Derek Dosdall, PhD.

This position is considered Category I: Mandatory and required on campus or health care facilities to support on-site operations. Employees hired into this category will be required to be physically located at the CVRTI Facility if they are healthy and without COVID -19 symptom.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be expected to be involved with hardware and software development as well as with experimental animal research. The candidate will be responsible for planning for and conducting experiments, data analysis, presenting results internally and at conferences, and preparing manuscripts for publication.

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates will be evaluated on research experience and expertise. The candidate should have a PhD, MD, or equivalent doctorate with preference given to individuals with an engineering (biomedical, electrical or mechanical) or similar quantitative background. The candidate must be a self-motivated problem solver capable of independent work with excellent communication and writing skills. Experience with data analysis software such as Matlab and/or Labview as well as statistical analysis will be beneficial.
