Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated postdoctoral scientist for preclinical translational investigations to study the role of small GTPases in tumor progression and metastasis.

This position is considered Category I: Mandatory and required on campus or health care facilities to support on-site operations. Employees hired into this category will be required to be physically located at the Huntsman Cancer Institute if they are healthy and without COVID -19 symptoms.

Postdoc with a primary duty consisting research-related work. Required to meet FLSA threshold to be paid on a salaried basis, otherwise employment record will convert to hourly.

Responsibilities

Postdoc

This position affords the opportunity to work in a vibrant and highly collaborative community at the HCI . In addition, postdoctoral scientists will be mentored in gross and histomorphologic phenotyping of in vivo models and in conducting studies with patient tissue samples. Dr. Grossmann is a molecular and surgical pathologist at ARUP Laboratories and an investigator at the HCI .

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.

Candidate should have a PhD in biology or related field. Knowledge or skill with routine cell culture, molecular biology and biochemical methods, and statistical analysis that is fundamental to a cancer research lab are required. Successful candidates will be highly self-motivated; capable of producing high-quality, reproducible results with appropriate controls; and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
