Job Summary
A postdoctoral position is available in the Ayer lab at the Huntsman Cancer Institute located in Salt Lake City.
Responsibilities
PhD required in science field.
Our group is focused on how cell sense and a mount an adaptive transcriptional response to changes in glucose concentration. Our primary focus is the MondoA transcription factor and its functional cross talk with the Myc oncogene. Projects are available to investigate the biochemical mechanisms by which MondoA senses glucose 6-phosphate, interrogate the direct MondoA-dependent transcriptome, determine how MondoA and Myc control access to the genome and gene expression and elucidate the role of MondoA in vivo using orthotopic xenograft models. The ideal candidate is driven by the question “how does that work” and will bring a positive attitude, a passion for teamwork, and strong work ethic to the position. Prior training in cell biology, genomics or mouse models of cancer would be beneficial. The start date negotiable.
