Job Summary

The College of Pharmacy Post-Award Grants and Contracts Officer III provides central post-award administration of research grants and contracts to College of Pharmacy faculty and staff while interacting with outside entities in regard to the financial matters of sponsored institutional projects.


1. Assists College of Pharmacy faculty and staff with financial management involving sponsored projects and other discretionary research funding.

2. Monitors project spending, maintains payroll distributions and reporting, processing financial transactions, prepares and finalizes financial reports for submission to faculty PIs and sponsoring entities.

3. Maintains faculty and staff payroll distributions on grants and projects in conjunction with department staff and college accountants.

4. Grants and Contracts Accounting liaison for invoicing sponsors.

5. Analyzes awards for the creation of projects and associated attributes within the University’s financial systems and assists in solving financial problems related to the administration of awards.

6. Provides expert advice, guidance, and training to College of Pharmacy faculty and staff regarding sponsored awards and appropriate administrative processes.

7. Enforces compliance and ensures consistency with federal and state regulations, University policies and practices, research compliance restrictions and guidelines, financial and academic requirements, close-out practices, and agency policies and procedures.

8. Collects and prepares all relevant financial information for award close-out.

9. Reviews, interprets, and implements sponsoring agency rules and processes corrections to financial statements. Communicates and resolves issues with appropriate funding agencies.

10. Assists in creation, review and maintenance of College financial databases, procedures and policies.

11. Assists with the college process of creating and submitting yearly budgets.

12. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree + two years of related experience or 10 years of related experience
