Job Summary

Performs duties such as data entry and answering employee questions via phone, email, and in person. Human Resources is dedicated to accuracy, efficiency, and providing excellent customer service. We value diversity and have high expectations for performance This position is a payroll position that requires some mathematical calculations, attention to detail and organizational skills.

Position also provides opportunity to learn or increase knowledge of basic human resource skills in a fast-paced, team oriented, environment.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

1. Responds to employee inquiries regarding benefits, payroll, or employment

services.

2. Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely

3. Daily data entry of payroll transactions

4. Reconcile payroll prior to transmission

5. Understand proper taxation and employer benefits

6. Research payroll issues

Problem Solving

This position responds to requests and questions regarding payroll, benefits and personnel matters. This position will be given latitude to make decisions regarding the day to day operations of the functional area.

The major challenges encountered by incumbents in this position include acting as the first point of contact for employee and department inquiries regarding payroll matters, appropriately handling controversial or sensitive employee issues, ensuring that payroll information is entered accurately and timely, and researching and resolving questions and issues related to that information.

Minimum Qualifications

One to three years office experience or equivalency required. (College education may qualify as an eligible substitution for work experience.) Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills also required.

Decision making, problem solving, and analytical skills needed. Working knowledge of Kronos and PeopleSoft preferred.

Data entry experience is required. Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.

Preferences

Previous payroll experience.

Working knowledge of PeopleSoft and Kronos
