This position is responsible for issuing parking permits to patients and visitors for specified lots and monitors the lot to ensure space is available. The incumbent also directs the flow of traffic as needed. This position has no responsibility for providing patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the parking of vehicles in any specified lot.

  • Provides information and assistance to patients and visitors.

  • Issues parking permits to visitors and other short-term parking motorists.

  • Prevents vehicles from parking without proper authorization. Controls and restricts access to parking terraces based on specific criteria.

  • Suggests alternative parking options and directs motorists to other lots in the event that the terraces are full.

  • Directs deliveries to the loading dock, as appropriate.

  • Opens and closes facilities at the beginning and end of shifts.

  • Cleans work area as required.

  • May assist at special events.

  • May perform clerical tasks such as answering phones, responding to mail, or filing.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

  • Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions as outlined above.

  • Ability to verbally communicate to provide customer service.

  • Ability to be courteous yet firm with the public.

  • Ability to work well with peers.

  • Demonstrated skills in word processing and spreadsheets.

Qualifications

Qualifications Required

  • Six months of customer service experience, or equivalency.

Qualifications (Preferred)

Preferred

  • Previous experience as a parking booth attendant.

Employee must be able to meet the following requirements with or without an accommodation.

  • This position involves light work that may exert up to 20 pounds and may consistently require light work involving lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or otherwise moving objects. This position may involve exposure to environmental conditions both inside and outside.
