The University of Utah School of Medicine has an opening for a faculty position as an orthopaedic surgeon/scientist scholar with the area of specialty in musculoskeletal oncology. The position will be on the Tenure track and the rank will be determined based on the chosen candidate’s specific qualifications, background, and career trajectory. The incumbent will be become an integral part of a dynamic sarcoma orthopaedic team within an outstanding academic orthopaedic department.

Minimum requirements include completion of a residency in orthopaedic surgery and a one-year advanced fellowship training in musculoskeletal oncology or sarcoma orthopaedics, or equivalent plus board certification or board eligibility. Additional advanced training and research in managing sarcoma orthopaedics and/or reconstruction is highly recommended.

Applicants should have a sincere desire to establish oneself as an independent scientist and mentor others to develop focused clinical, research and educational programs in musculoskeletal disorders. Such will include publishing in peer-reviewed journals and presenting at national meetings. Candidates need to have demonstrated an exceptional academic interest and a clear track record of excellence in orthopaedics, including clinical care, education, and clinical or advanced science research.
