The Department of Entrepreneurship and Strategy at the David Eccles School of Business at the University of Utah seeks applicants for faculty positions at the Assistant, Associate, or Professor rank. These positions are subject to University funding and approval. Candidates should hold a Ph.D., or show evidence that their doctoral dissertation will be substantially completed by August 1, 2021. These positions will require high levels of scholarship, teaching and collegiality.

Applicants should submit a cover letter, CV, working or job market paper, research and teaching statement, and evidence of teaching ability. Candidates applying at the Assistant rank should include three letters of reference while candidates at the Associate or Full rank should provide contact information for at least three references. Our current tenure line faculty include Jay Barney, Lyda Bigelow, Jack Brittain, Josh Feng, Bill Hesterly, Matthew Higgins, Bill Schulze, Orie Shelef, Jason Snyder, Rob Wuebker, and Todd Zenger, with half joining the group over the last several years. While all self-identify as strategy and/or entrepreneurship scholars, our research focus is varied as reflected in the broad range of journals in which our faculty have published in recent years, including the Strategic Management Journal, Organization Science, American Economic Review, Management Science, Journal of Political Economy, Review of Financial Studies, Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal, and Research Policy.

The Department recently started a post-doctoral fellowship program and co-hosts the Winter Strategy Conference, which annually features the work of early career strategy scholars. The conference has become one of the marquee small conferences in the strategy field. The Department also provides important academic support and leadership to four institutes or centers within the Eccles School: the Lassonde Entrepreneurship Institute, the Goff Strategic Leadership Center, the Sorenson Center for Discovery and Innovation, and the Sorenson Impact Center. The Department has also recently launched a novel Master of Business Creation.
