The Department of Biomedical Informatics at the University of Utah is recruiting to expand its international program and build on existing strengths. We are seeking candidates with internationally recognized expertise in biomedical informatics education to lead our expansion to The University of Utah Asia campus (http://asiacampus.utah.edu/). The ideal candidate should have experience in teaching and organizing educational programs involving international students as well as a reputation of excellence in biomedical informatics education. The appointment will be as a career line faculty of the University Utah School of Medicine (http://medicine.utah.edu/academic-affairs/career-line-faculty.php) in the lecturer track. The rank and length of the appointment will be commensurable with the candidate credentials and mutual level of interest. Candidates must have earned a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in Biomedical Informatics or related field. The desired start time will be August 1st 2017, but this may be negotiable.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and implementation of the graduate program in biomedical informatics at The University of Utah Asia Campus. This program has been recently approved, so the candidate will have an opportunity for innovative management of the program, conduct didactic practicums and coordinate the didactic material with the course directors in the Salt Lake Campus. The selected candidate will also coordinate the visits of the Salt Lake faculty to the Incheon Global Campus (IGC). It is the expectation that the selected candidate will spend the majority of his/her time at the Asia Campus, with short visits to the Salt Lake Campus to coordinate educational activities with the rest of the biomedical informatics faculty.

Currently, The University of Utah Asia Campus offers three undergraduate majors in communication, psychology and social work, and one graduate major in public health. A Biomedical Informatics graduate program will start in the fall of 2017.
