Job Summary
This is a Night Shift (see work schedule) position in our Network Operations Center supporting UETN connected customers. This position is primarily focused on network monitoring, management, and maintenance.
Day to day work includes performing maintenance and troubleshooting of the UETN backbone and customer connected networks. It includes responding to alerts generated in monitoring tools, respond and manage incidents and coordinate repairs and service with our engineers, vendors, telecoms, and customers.
Participation in improvement projects and tasks to increase our network capabilities and services is also part of the responsibilities.
This is a Category IIA position: Not required on campus and able to telework during the duration of the University’s COVID -19 response. Employees and/or functions where employees are able to work remotely in order to maintain campus systems, campus operations, clinical operations, and patient care.
Responsibilities
Perform duties associated with the management, monitoring, and maintenance of the UETN network. These duties include but are not limited to:
- Assisting connected customers with network related issues or outages.
- Identify and troubleshoot network related issues through resolution.
- Performing preventative maintenance and support for our statewide network.
- Learn and grow your expertise on a large, complicated, and state of the art network.
- Ability to self-manage time and priorities based on work requirement guidelines.
- Work effectively during evening and overnight hours as required by the work schedule.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in related area or equivalency (2 years related work experience may be substituted for 1 year of education). 4-6 years of experience in network administration or related area.

Preferences
- Experience with network monitoring tools and services
- CCNA and/or CCNP Certification
- Self-motivated and disciplined
