Job Summary

Medical secretary to a busy Pediatric Surgery office/clinic located at both Primary Children’s Hospital and our Riverton outpatient clinic.

Support 8 surgeons and administration through team work, communication and taking responsibilities to ensure patients and parents have an exceptional experience.

Perform all job duties with an optimistic outlook and a friendly demeanor to calm and care for the children we serve.

Able to maintain expectations in a fast-paced, high intensity position.

•Interacting with patients and parents over the phone, email and in person in a professional caring manner

•Taking vital signs

•Answering multiple different phone calls

•Triaging patients correctly and efficiently

•Scheduling appointments in Electronic Medical Records (EMR)

•Cleaning clinic rooms

•Ordering supplies

•Communicate effectively with patients, providers, co-workers and administration

•Proficiently multitasking and prioritizing tasks, time and needs of the clinic

•Clerical task such as email, ordering, scanning and paper work

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalency and four years secretarial experience or equivalency required; knowledge of medical terminology; strong word processing and spreadsheet software skills; demonstrated organizational, human relations, and effective communication skills also required.

Preferred: Two years of experience in a hospital, clinic or laboratory setting. Patient registration or related experience also preferred.

This position is patient sensitive.


Bilingual in Spanish.
