Job Summary
The South Main Pediatric Clinic at the University of Utah School of Medicine has an immediate opening for a Medical Assistant that shares our vision and passion for caring for children. The Medical Assistant plays a critical role in facilitating the efficient delivery of patient care, supporting the professional role of the licensed staff, and providing support and assistance as directed by licensed staff in rendering basic healthcare to pediatric patients.
Additional responsibilities include clerical functions, data tracking and report completion. The Medical Assistant will have the opportunity to work side by side with world class professionals, developing their skills and growing their career. Comments
Incumbents face exposure to potentially dangerous contaminated bodily fluids, blood, used needles and other contaminants as part of the daily hazards of the job. The physical demand of being on your feet for long periods of time, of moving and lifting patients and of reaching for and handling equipment are common elements of the job.
The staff member must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his or her assigned unit. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of life span growth and development and the ability to assess data regarding the patient’s status and provide care as described in the department’s policies and procedures manual.
Minimum Qualifications
Required
Current RQI Healthcare Provider eCredential through the University of Utah Health RQI system. The eCredential is to be obtained within 30 days of hire.
Preferred
Completion of an accredited Medical Assisting Program.
